Over the past year, I have learned a lot about blogging just by being a member of the team over at Home & School Mosaics and Mosaic Reviews, and this year I want to keep growing, adding and expanding even more. One thing I am going to do is to start linking up with my fellow blogger friends more, and so today I am linking up to Heidi over at Heidi’s Head for Three Things Thursday, where you’ll find out three random things about your favorite bloggers.
Three Things for me this week is too easy, as they all pertain to things going on in my life right now that I just haven’t had a chance to share, so let’s go!
1. I still have Christmas up. I know some of you may as well, so don’t feel bad for not having it all down and packed away in boxes yet. I celebrate ALL of the Christmas season, all the way up to Epiphany or Three Kings Day and so my decor doesn’t go back to the attic until January 7th (and 8th, too…it’s a house full of decorations that gets put away and I am slow), but this year I am running a little behind. I started today, but am not in any rush. I love the decorations, they are so peaceful and with the flickering lights it makes for such beautiful photos. I can spend endless amounts of time just sitting with my camera in hand and taking shot after shot of beautiful Christmas decorations, decorations that are more precious to me than any others, probably because of the story they tell. The snowglobes given to me as a child by great-grandmothers, miniature villages started by my grandmother, with a new piece every year for my Hope Chest. The ornaments I made out of stained glass as a child, or anything that was my mom’s paired with the things I have collected over the years from my own children. The ladies who made sure to fill my future home with Christmas memories are all gone, but when my house is decorated for the holidays, they surround me by each item’s presence. My Christmas decorations feel like a hug from those I miss, and I am just not quite ready to box that up yet.
