When I received my kit, I could tell right away that the creator, Heather McMillan, put a lot of time and effort into this program. The Virtue Flash Cards are bright and colorful, with eye catching artwork and cute characters that each have a virtue that character is working on. Along with the flash cards, I received a sample Parenting Card, Teachers Handbook, Family Character Assessment, Youth List of Bible Heroes and Memory Verses, A Butterfly Award, Kids of Virtueville Coloring book, and a product comparison chart.

One of the great things about this program is that you can buy a full kit, like the Homeschool Kit, a Classroom Kit, or a smaller Family Kit. There is even a Church Kit which I think would be perfect for any Sunday School classroom. If you don’t want the entire pre-packaged kit, you can mix and match the pieces ‘A la Carte’ to create your own ‘kit’. While many of the items in the kits are pre-printed, quite a few are PDF downloads, like the coloring book, Butterfly awards and Teacher’s Handbook. The great thing about that is you can reprint those things as you need them. Need more coloring pages? Just print more! Yay!
While the program is intentionally designed for preschoolers up through elementary age, I found ways to incorporate it into my 13 year old’s day. Having a hard time getting chores accomplished? Out came the I am Helpful card. What I really like best about these cards is the quote on the back of each card, along with a verse from the bible that corresponds to that virtue.
